Wat Khao Wong is a breathtaking temple complex in beautiful surroundings. It is located in a quiet forested valley against a mountain backdrop, and has an exquisitely landscaped garden with colourful flowers.

Wat makes Khao Wong Temple so special is the 4-storey Thai-style pavilion, built almost entirely of wood against the mountain slope. This wood has been donated by local people, and was turned into a very natural looking construction, different from most Thai Temples, creating an atmosphere suited for meditation and contemplation.
From our observation, the temple puts its emphasis on the importance of meditation and Dharma practice rather than object worship or monetary donations. In front of the pavilion is a large pond containing a significant number of fish.
